If the plan design calls for a roof structure that is built up to a specific height on knee walls you will need to adjust the height of the second floor prior to building roof planes or rebuilding the roof.

Click ok to close the dialog and automatically generate a roof. From the menu go to build wall straight exterior wall then click and drag in the wall the same length as the deck railing below it. If you are using home designer pro check the box next to build roof planes. Select the 2nd floor room that was edited previously and click the open object edit button to return to the room specification dialog. The attic floor does not support rooms or living space of any kind not even rooms specified as attics. Select build wall straight exterior wall and create a basic enclosed 4 wall rectangular structure by drawing your walls in a clockwise fashion.

If you need to add a new floor to your model select build floor build new floor from the menu.
